The third annual Kareng Sports Festival proved its strength when the different speakers praised it for its moulding phenomenon on the students of Kareng Hostel in the North West district. The festival was held on the 30 November 2023 in Kareng village. The festival include different sporting codes such as football, volleyball, netball, boxing, judo, basketball, athletics, table tennis and social skills. The festival follows a partnership between Wecho Trust and North West District Council three years ago. The Board of the National Arts Council of Botswana had announced the appointment of Otsetswe Koboyankwe as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Council, effective 26th November 2024. Koboyankwe is the current the Legal Counsel and Board Secretary of the Council from December 2023. Koboyankwe holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Botswana, an LLM in Rule of Law for Development from Loyola University Chicago, and an Advanced Master in Air and Space Law from Leiden University in the Netherlands.
