Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) is alongside other local tourism destination entities participating at the ongoing International Tourism Bourse (ITB) Berlin 2023 from Tuesday 7th to Thursday 9th March 2023 in Germany.
ITB Berlin is the world’s leading travel trade show, and this year marks its first in-person edition since the advent of COVID-19 pandemic. The trade show offers opportunities to launch new and latest products, generate new sales leads, increase brand exposure, and establish networks amongst industry players. This trade show is amongst several marketing activities scheduled by BTO for the year to propel tourism sector recovery.
The Botswana stand showcases the destination’s readiness to host the world, and it depicts the varying Botswana products from leisure, adventure, events, culture and heritage and cross boarder travel as well as a showcase of the country’s hospitality. The stand further depicts Botswana as a MICE destination.
During the fair, the BTO team will be engaging with media and other key players in the tourism space for potential strategic partnerships to advance Botswana tourism’s mandate and the sector’ s recovery.
BTO will, this year, host a total of thirty – three (33) co-exhibitors comprising of twenty-seven (27) large-scale and five (5) small-scale operators. The operators will get an opportunity to conduct exclusive business to business meetings with international agents/buyers, local operators, and potential partners.
BTO has partnered with Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) and Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) to co-sponsor four (4) small-scale businesses and will be accompanied by representative from the two parastatals. The two organisation’s participation will ensure that they get a chance to understand the importance of travel fairs in the growth of the Tourism Market.
