Moja LOVE (DStv Channel 157) has announced that in the last couple of months it has been filming exciting episodes of Uyajola 99, beyond the borders of South Africa. The channel decided to break boundaries and take the popular reality show to Botswana for the first time since the show’s inception in 2019.
Early this year, the channel decided to adopt an internationalization strategy with a view of taking the channel and its popular offerings beyond the borders of South Africa into the African continent and Botswana was the first choice. Moja LOVE first introduced Sgela, a drama that showcased the bull-locking of horns between daring learners, unconventional teachers, and unaware parents. The channel has kept its promise with the filming of Uyajola 99 in the neighbouring country.
“This is a landmark moment for Botswana,” remarked Stephanie Pillay, Managing Director of MultiChoice Botswana. “It’s a powerful testament to the untapped potential within our country to be a part of compelling content that resonates far beyond our borders. Opportunities like these position us as a nation brimming with stories that demand to be shared, not just locally, but across the entire continent. At its core, this is what our business stands for, immersing ourselves in the communities we serve and amplifying the authentic human experiences that connect us all.”
Livhuwani Dagada, Head of Channel and Executive Producer of the show, said, “This is an exciting chapter for the channel. We know that people all over Africa consume our content and it’s great that we’ve expanded our territory. Moja LOVE will continue to tell South African stories on a larger scale and extending beyond South Africa to neighbouring countries.”
The episodes will broadcast every Sunday night for the month of January.
