Orange Botswana rewards historic Olympic Gold and Silver medalists

Orange Botswana has honored its brand ambassador, Letsile Tebogo, with a monumental reward following his historic achievement at the Paris Olympics. Tebogo’s remarkable performance, where he clinched the men’s 200 meters Olympic gold medal with a stunning time of 19.46 seconds, has not only secured Botswana’s first-ever Olympic gold but also established him as the fifth-fastest man in history over the distanc

In recognition of Tebogo’s extraordinary accomplishment and his role as a symbol of national pride, the leading telecommunications company will award the gold medalist with P500,000. Tebogo’s coach, Kebonyemodisa’Dose’ Mosimanyane, who has made a substantialcontribution to the athlete’s journey on the track, will be awarded P50,000. 

Finally, the 4x400M Relay team that clinched a podium finish as silver medalists, will receive a total of P150,000. This generous reward underscores the company’s unwavering support for local talent and its commitment to fostering excellence in Botswana’s sporting arena.

Ahead of the Olympic Games, Orange Botswana demonstrated its dedication by contributing BWP 1,680,000 in monetary and in-kind sponsorship to the national team, including BWP 300,000 specifically for qualified athletes which increased substantially to P610,000 following the addition of qualified athletes within the athletic and swimming disciplines. The company’s support total P2,560,000 to Team Botswana’s Olympic campaign is a testament to the company’s belief in the transformative power of sport and its role in shaping a brighter future for Botswana’s athletes. 

This support was crucial in bolstering the team’s morale and performance. Additionally, the company established fan parks in Francistown and Gaborone, where Batswana came together to celebrate their heroes and witness Tebogo’s historic victory.

Orange Botswana’s partnership with Letsile Tebogo, which began two years ago, has been pivotal in his journey to Olympic glory. The company has provided essential financial backing, ensuring that Tebogo had the resources needed to compete and excel on the global stage. As the face of Orange Botswana, Tebogo has become an iconic representation of the company’s values and its dedication to nurturing talent.
