A classic London derby takes centre stage in the Premier League this weekend, as Chelsea host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on the evening of Sunday 10 November.

There is no better place to get your season-long ticket to the best football the world has to offer than DStv!

Match background

The Blues are the Gunners are in different places when it comes to their status and development. While Arsenal areestablished title contenders and looking to knock Manchester City off their perch, Chelsea are a growing force that is targeting a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Both teams play progressive, tactically-astute football, but the heated rivalry between the two is sure to add some tension and aggression into the mix, which should make for a classic Premier League ‘Battle at the Bridge’.

What the teams are saying

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca on his team’s progress:

“We are a young team, a growing team. Arsenal are clearly ahead of us in their development and they have done a great job in the last two or three seasons. But we must have the ambition of beating teams like this, especially at home. We will need to play at our best level, and have the support of our fans.”

Arsenal attacker Kai Havertz on coming up against his former team:

“The change from Chelsea to Arsenal was worth it. Chelsea fans were angry that I left, the Arsenal fans weren’t so enthusiastic either, because it didn’t go so well at the start. But I think now we have a much better relationship and I am very proud and happy to be a part of this club.”

Players to watch

Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea) – Chelsea’s Senegalese striker has been growing in confidence since the start of the season, and he will hope to make a major statement by scoring against a title-chasing side in the shape of Arsenal.

Kai Havertz (Arsenal) – The versatile German has become a key player for Arsenal, contributing goals and assists from various forward positions. He will be hungry to score against his former club and further boost the Gunners’ title hopes.

Head-to-head

In head-to-head stats, Chelsea and Arsenal have met in 209 matches across all competitions since 1907. The Gunners have claimed 84 wins compared to 66 for the Blues, while 59 games have been drawn.

Arsenal took four points off Chelsea in their Premier League matches last season, drawing 2-2 at Stamford Bridge in October 2023, before racking up an emphatic 5-0 triumph at the Emirates Stadium in April 2024.
