Orange Botswana Boosts Olympic Sponsorship to P610,000
Orange Botswana has significantly increased its sponsorship to Team Botswana athletes and swimmers participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics, reaffirming its commitment to sports development in the country. The total sponsorship amount has risen from P300,000 to P610,000, providing each qualified athlete with monetary support to aid their preparations and participation in the games.
The enhanced sponsorship includes P50,000 for individual athletes and P60,000 for the 4x400M Relay team. This substantial financial backing aims to bolster the performance of Botswana’s athletes on the global stage, ensuring they have the necessary resources to compete at their highest level.
Orange Botswana CEO Néné Maïga expressed her pride in supporting the athletes, stating, “Our increased sponsorship is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the development of sports in Botswana. We believe in the potential of our athletes and are dedicated to providing them with the support they need to excel.”
Since the initial sponsorship announcement to Team Botswana and the Botswana National Olympic Committee, an additional eight athletes have qualified for the Olympics, prompting Orange Botswana to increase the sponsorship amounts accordingly. The following athletes will receive the updated sponsorship:
● Tebogo Letsile (100 & 200M) – P50,000
● Tshepiso Masalela (800M) – P50,000
● Bayapo Ndori (400M & 4x400M Relay) – P60,000
● Leungo Scotch (400M & 4x400M Relay) – P60,000
● Collen Kebinatshipi (400M & 4x400M Relay) – P60,000
● Kethobogile Haingura (800M) – P50,000
● Lee Eppie (4x400M Relay) – P10,000
● Tumo Nkape (800M) – P50,000
● Oratile Nowe (800M) – P50,000
● Victor Ntweng (400M Hurdles) – P50,000
● Boitumelo Masilo (4x400M Relay) – P10,000
● Anthony Pesela (4x400M Relay) – P10,000
● Maxine Egner (100M Breaststroke) – P50,000
● Adrian Robinson (100M Freestyle) – P50,000
Orange Botswana has a notable history of supporting athletes, including its partnership with Letsile Tebogo, a decorated athlete at a young age and holds the World U20 100m record, making him the fastest U20 sprinter in the world. This continual effort to work closely with athletes and sports organizations underscores Orange Botswana’s commitment to fostering talent and promoting sports in the country.
