The Board of the National Arts Council of Botswana had announced the appointment of Otsetswe Koboyankwe as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Council, effective 26th November 2024. Koboyankwe is the current the Legal Counsel and Board Secretary of the Council from December 2023.
Koboyankwe holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Botswana, an LLM in Rule of Law for Development from Loyola University Chicago, and an Advanced Master in Air and Space Law from Leiden University in the Netherlands.
She has also completed a Leadership Management Programme and the Leaders Programme in Policy at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Policy, Singapore. Her extensive experience includes representing Botswana in regional and international forums, such as the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC).
Additionally, she has contributed to international taskforces, showcasing her ability to navigate complex policy environments and foster meaningful collaborations.
With over 15 years of legal experience spanning both government and the corporate sector, Ms. Koboyankwe is well-equipped to lead the Council. The Board is confident that Ms. Koboyankwe’s strategic vision, legal and governance expertise, and dedication to ethical leadership will enable her to steer the Council effectively through this transitional phase.
Meanwhile, the Board has commenced the process of appointing a substantive CEO in consultation with the Ministry of Sports and Arts.
