The Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) has announced the appointment of Makuke Stephen Makuke as the Director Business Development and Property Management Services with effect from the 3rd October 2022.
Makuke undertakes this new role with a wealth of experience having previously held positions of Acting Chief Executive Officer, Director of Business Development, Acting Director of Operations & Engineering and Director of Marketing & Supply Chain with Botswana Railways.
Stephen also has extensive Board Membership experience having previously served Boards such as those of Botswana Vaccine Institute, Human Resource Development Council Sub Sector Committee Member (HRDC), Gaborone Container Terminal –Gabcon, BR Properties Pty Ltd, Southern African Railways Association and Joint Chairperson of Project Steering Committee between Botswana Railways and Zambia Railways for the development of Mosetse – Kazungula Rail Line.
Makuke holds Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of North West (RSA) and Master of Philosophy in Development Finance from Stellenbosch University (RSA) as well as A Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Management from the University of Botswana.
Stephen is a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Development Finance, admitted as a Chartered Development Finance Analyst (CDFA). He has also undergone an Executive Development Programme with Stellenbosch University.

The functions of the Commission include provide leadership and guidance on sport development and promotion; mainstream the benefits of sport and physical activity and recreation in the lives of Batswana; promoting sport tourism; and regulate sport at all levels.
