Stanbic Bank Botswana confirms yet another incredible talent from Botswana takes on a new role at Standard Bank Group, a demonstration of the depth of skill Batswana have to offer the wider financial services world. Sheperd Aisam, who has served as Head of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) at Stanbic Bank Botswana for 6 years has been appointed Head of Public Sector, Business & Commercial Clients at Standard Bank Group.

Said Stanbic Bank Botswana Chief Executive, Chose Modise, “We are excited to see Sheperd now take on the challenge of a Group role, excited for the next chapter ahead in his career. His unrelenting focus on client and employee experience coupled with his drive to maximise client value through disciplined, bold and inspirational leadership has left an indelible mark for us at Stanbic Bank Botswana, and we know he will do even greater things in the future. It is with pride that we see yet another Stanbic Bank colleague from Botswana take on the wider and indeed international stage. We wish Sheperd all the best as he takes on new adventures!”

Sheperd holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree from University of Botswana and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Strategic Management from the University of Derby. He also holds an Executive Master of Business Administration degree, specialising in Executive Management, from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town.

Sheperd first joined Stanbic Bank Botswana as an Account Executive under Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) and has since held key critical roles within CIB including serving as Interim Head of Client Coverage in Mauritius. In 2014, he was appointed Head of Client Coverage Botswana, and in 2016 to Head of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) in 2016, a role he has performed with unrivalled passion as he grew the CIB portfolio to become a leader in the Botswana market.

It is a testament to the caliber and depth of talent of the business and indeed to the quality of training and career development offered.
