We are living in an era where getting a job is scarce and or even keeping one due to unlimited factors such as retrenchment, liquidation of companies, low salary scales equated to high demand less supply of the world of work. Graduates from the high-ranking universities have no cure to this factor. It is a dauting reality. It is at this backdrop that as individuals, through a mindset change we must think beyond the box to keeping ends meet.

For some perhaps, it is opportunity to change the world. A rhetorical device that’s frequently tied to the famous US President, John F. Kennedy quote, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”

This could be what collected Segofalang Nagafela-Bibiza (37) to quit her lucrative 8-5 job in November 2021 and venture into entrepreneurship.

At the peak of her successful career, many doubted her decision when she announced her detour. Nagafela-Bibiza’s new venture is more than just a business joint, it’s a movement with sole mission to help and position potential employees to their next employer, cutting the red tape, bridging the processes of human resource recruitment and enhancement of productivity.

A graduate of from the University of Botswana with bachelor’s degree of Public Administration and Sociology back in 2008, the Ditshegwane born lass possess an astonishing 11 years of experience having worked in numerous HR establishments including both private and government. At the time of calling, last year, she was responsible for all the Training function and all Recruitments, Promotions, Scholarships and even Reporting in the Ministry of Agriculture.

With her company, she explains that Seggo Consultancy and Recruitment aims at being to close employment gaps and ensures even when you don’t know people in certain places you can still stand a chance.

“I also wanted to make the employment process simpler for both employers and employees. For individuals with application processes, CVs, Competency based Interviews, Psychometrics and everything that has to do with recruitment and training. I serve organizations on training, performance management, policy formulation, recruitment, team building exercises and mental health activism.”, she explains.

Quite staggering, since March 2022, about 150 people have already been placed either as part time, remote workers, temporary, contract based to her belt.

Beyond exaggeration, Nagafela has conceptualised what could be ideal for international placement too. At the push of advancement of social media, she commands a huge following which is a grandstand for recognition anywhere in the world.

“We have a task ahead, the team that is hardworking behind the scenes know our course. We plan to expand to feed the international market placement with employees, something we have already started even though currently it’s remote jobs”.

When quizzed what made her take the risk to start her journey, Nagafela pins her frustrations to formations not letting new graduates’ placement from entry level. “With HR the antidote is experience, you can’t buy it, it is earned and the rule to get it is getting employed otherwise we are only going to recycle which demoralises the youth”.

Her stardom has seen her moving to the decision-making boardrooms too, In October 2022 she joined BONEPWA as an HR Advisor to the Board. She is also a Speaker and a Mental health activist, something she started in 2018. In her spare time, she is a budding artist with a single currently in the airwaves dubbed Go Go Ze.
