Public sector Leaders, Policy Makers and Stakeholders within the Public sector across the continent will be leading discussions on sustainable development goals to forge new paths at the 5th edition of the Africa Public Sector Conference & Awards set to be held in Botswana on  3rd and 4th  October at the Hotel 430 , Gaborone.

The latest Africa Sustainable Development report calls for accelerated efforts to ensure that Africa achieves its global goals by the 2030 deadline. The attainment of sustainable development is at the heart of all stakeholders globally ranging from the civil society, communities, private sector, public sector, and the development partners.

Themed “Promoting Innovation for Sustainable Development, APSCA 2024 will bring together senior leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors aiming to shape the future of public service in Africa and propel the continent toward sustainable development.

APSCA is a premier forum for civil servants, public sector leaders, policymakers, industry experts, and stakeholders to explore innovative ideas and techniques aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across African societies. The event seeks to foster collective dialogue on creating a sustainable future for upcoming generations, aligning with the latest Africa Sustainable Development report, which calls for accelerated efforts to meet the global 2030 deadline.

The conference will feature in-depth discussions on innovation in public service, energy, environment, digital technologies, water management, civil service reforms, green economy, and the critical role of women in public service and governance.

The importance of collective leadership in driving sustainable development, stated, “Achieving a resilient and sustainable economy will take a collective commitment by stakeholders, decision-makers, and development partners alongside the private sector. It requires scaling up resources and building a vibrant, inclusive, and safe digital economy across the continent. Leadership and a vision for pushing the frontiers of innovation are essential if Africa is to truly own its 21st century.”

“Recognition and accolades serve as a vital motivation for human nature. It is essential to celebrate the top-performing leaders who have demonstrated exceptional policy innovation and leadership across various levels of governance. This does not only set the benchmark for excellence but also inspires other public office holders and civil servants to strive for higher standards,” said Mr. Akin Naphtal, Group Publisher of Public Sector Global Magazine, in a press statement.

The Africa Public Sector Conference & Awards, established in 2018, has become a renowned platform for driving thought leadership, innovation, and sustainable development in the African public sector. Since its inception in Rwanda, followed by subsequent editions in Ghana and Kenya, the APSCA has proven its unique ability to convene leaders from across the continent to tackle critical issues and unlock Africa’s development potential.

Powered by Public Sector Global Magazine, an InstinctWave Publication, the 2024 edition of APSCA has garnered endorsements from key organizations, including the Public Service Commission Ghana, the Office of the Head of Civil Service, Ghana, and the Directorate of Public Service Management, Botswana.

Some Esteemed Public sector institutions in Botswana have thrown their weight behind the event. Endorsed by the Botswana Unified Revenue Service, and sponsored by Okavango Diamond Company (Diamond Sponsor)
