The Absa Bank Botswana Managing Director Keabetswe Pheko-Moshagane has reminded the customers of her bank to drive their slogan, “Your Story Matters,” as have in many a times it is the heartbeat of everything we do. She was speaking at one of their campaign give away ceremony on Tuesday at their Block 3 Industrial CPS building.
She said behind every account we hold at Absa, every transaction, and every financial goal, there’s a person, a dreamer, a hustler or a visionary, writing their own unique story. As a bank, we are very committed to writing each and every unique story with our customers.
” As a bank, going into 2025 were periods of winning. We ran our annual signature Win a Moraka
Savings Campaign, a beautiful fusion of tradition and progress. By tying savings to this cultural cornerstone, we did not just incentivise financial discipline; we celebrated what it truly means to build something that lasts. We also ran the Change Your Story Card Campaign which is the main reason we are all gathered here this afternoon. Today, we gather to celebrate with our customers who participated and won in our campaigns. Congratulations to all our winners and wish all those who did not win the best of luck in the future.

For her part, Absa retail manager Valeta Mthimkhulu explained that the campaign, Win-A Moraka – is their annual and traditional savings campaign that has been running since 2022. For the 2024 promotion, all customers neither new or existing, had to save a minimum of P2500 and maintain for at least 3 months.
“Every quarter, 2 customers stood a chance to win small stock of their choice, either sheep or goats as well as a ram. For the change your story/win a car promotion, customers just had to swipe P500 or more on the Absa swiping machine with their Absa cards. Each month, we awarded one lucky winner a whopping
P50,000! Yes, P50,000—because we truly wanted to transform our customers’ stories. At Absa, we believe that every customer has a unique story, and it is our role not only to understand those stories but to actively help shape them for the better.”
