Mascom Wireless, through its flagship employee-led Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Mascom 3-For-3, has pledged P100,000 to the Private Sector Disaster Response Fund (PSDRF) led by Business Botswana. This contribution is dedicated to supporting new mothers who have been impacted by the recent devastating floods across Botswana. The donation will be received by the Batlokwa Paramount Chief Kgosi Puso Gaborone this afternoon.

The recent floods have left many families vulnerable, and among the most affected are new mothers, who now face the challenge of caring for their infants amidst adversity. Understanding the urgent need for essential supplies, Mascom’s donation will go directly toward purchasing nappies, warm clothing, baby formula, and other critical necessities to support these mothers and their newborns. The donation will also comprise of P5,000 worth of airtime and five (5) Mascom broadband routers for the coordinating team.

“At Mascom, we have always believed that beyond being a digital services  provider; we are an integral part of the nation, an embodiment of the spirit of Botho, where humanity, compassion, and solidarity define our very essence. Through the Mascom 3-For-3 initiative, our employees have once again exemplified an innate culture of generosity and selflessness, reinforcing that care and community upliftment are not just actions we take, but a deep-seated part of who we are. We recognise that new mothers, at the cusp of nurturing the next generation, are among the most vulnerable in times of crisis. It is our hope that this contribution serves as a beacon of comfort, dignity, and reassurance as they rebuild their lives in the wake of adversity,” said Dzene Makhwade-Seboni, Chief Executive Officer at Mascom Wireless.

As a brand rooted in powering connections that inspire change, Mascom is resolute in standing with communities in times of need. The Mascom 3-For-3 initiative, inspired by Botswana’s history and heritage, empowers employees to take an active role in giving back to society. Every year staff members voluntarily dedicate three hours of their time in honour of the three Chiefs (Khama, Bathoen, Sebele) who played a pivotal role in securing Botswana’s independence. This initiative is a true testament to the power of collective action and the unwavering commitment of Mascom employees to making a tangible impact on lives.

This donation reinforces Mascom’s ongoing commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen. The Mascom 3– For– 3 initiative is more than an act of giving—it is a movement that embodies the company’s purpose of connecting people, empowering communities, and inspiring meaningful change.
