It is tick tock time as the nation’s sport fraternity awaits the much anticipated 2nd Annual Vunani Botswana Women Sports Awards slated for Saturday 23 March 2024 under the stars at Lekidi Football Centre in Gaborone.

Organised by Inside BW Women Sports Magazine, the awards aims to reward excellence and close gap on gender parity. In their efforts, brainchilds of the glitz and glamour do, Kesego Okie and Portia Mlilo have receiced praises as trendsetter in the local sports scene.

The awards has received a major boost with a title sponsor Vunani Fund Managers committing P600, 000 for three years. Other financial backing include Okavango Diamond Company’s P150, 000, Standard Chartered’s P60, 000 and VTM Security’s P10, 000 for 2024 edition respectively.

In her remarks at the launch of all sponsors and partners at Green Pantry in Gaborone, the esteemed Okie showed her delight in rewarding excellence in sport particularly women.

“I am delighted, all the sponsors have show us gratitude and encouragement as women to even thrive further. These awards wouldn’t be possible without sponsors”.

Meanwhile her partner Mlilo pleaded with the private sector to come on board as staging awards of their magnitude is very expensive. The ceremony was attended by sponsors, partners and media.

Furthermore, tickets are still on sale as curtain draw closer to red carpet on Saturday.
