The DTNF is Dr Ngwenya’s new mission in life and will be using the vehicle to give back to the community – and in the process, emphasize and elevate the importance and culture of Medicine and Sports.
“The aim of the DTNF is to become the vessel of change in transforming ordinary lives of young African children into becoming beacons of hope & aspiration. Through innovative programs, the purpose of the foundation is to ensure that African Youth Development is on par to produce global citizens,” said Dr Thulani Ngwenya.
“Our main pillars are education, sports & social development. We strongly believe that through these pillars the organization will reignite and cultivate a new culture of school sports that will breed academia & leaders.” Led by energetic Dr Thulani Ngwenya who was born in the Province where the sun rises, the
DTNF has a number of programs that will culminate with the launch of his new book titled, ‘Sports Medicine: My Love and passion.’ “The book will be detailing my life journey to where I am now and the lessons learnt. I am confident it is a book that will inspire hope on a lot of people and ignite the passion of following their dreams,” added Dr Ngwenya.
There are a number of initiatives that will pave the way for the book launch. The DTNF has partnered with SAFA Ehlanzeni to host a week-long SAFA D-Licence Coaching course (from 2-9 September 2022) for aspirant coaches in the Mpumalanga province. Saturday, 10 September will be a hive of activity, with an early start for a schools tournament that will take place at the KaNyamazane Stadium – the place where Dr
Ngwenya and the founding members of the DTNF were born and bred. Invited guests will then swop their tracksuits for formal wear in the evening to be part of the official book launch at the Emnotweni Arena (Mbombela in Mpumalanga), starting at 18h00. The book is already available at leading bookstores and retails for R250.
