UPICtv has announced a blockbuster of the highly anticipated movie premiere of “Roses in December” which is produced by local production company, Torch Studio. The film will premiere on the UPICtv platform on Friday 12th May 2023 at 19:00hrs. On the same day of the online film release, Torch Studio in partnership with UPICtv will hold an invite-only red-carpet cinema premiere of the film at New Capitol Cinemas, Riverwalk. UPICtv is proud to be associated with the event as it gives the opportunity to test the film reception on a live audience.
The premiere will also be an opportunity for members of the public to meet and interact with the cast and crew of the film. “Roses in December” is a 60-minute drama-comedy that delves deep into the universal truth that “you can’t choose your family”. It follows family strife and secrets that have been lying dormant for years being revealed when the Mogami family is brought together by their father’s sudden massive stroke. The film features a stellar cast of Botswana’s finest seasoned actors, including the talented Kgomotso Ratsie, known for her remarkable performance in South Africa’s renowned prime time eTV show “Scandal,” and the charismatic Peelo Mookodi, who has made appearances on SA’s prestigious “Top Billing,” “Roses in December” guarantees an unforgettable cinematic experience.
According to the UPICtv Manager, Ramphal Kgabanyane, UPICtv remains committed to being the foremost vehicle for local content producers and actors to showcase their work to audiences locally and internationally, thereby creating exposure for local talent well beyond the Botswana borders. “This film is one of many local productions that have been released on UPICtv to date. UPICtv remains the only local platform with the widest variety of locally produced content, living up to its brand proposition of “the home of Botswana stories”, he said.
