The Directorate of Public Sector Management (DPSM) Director, Gaone Macholo has applauded the APSCA for their efforts to bring together a discussion and engaging dialogues on public sector development conference in Botswana. The two-day conference which kickstarted at Hotel 430 in Gaborone from 3-4 October 2024 will see local and international delegates discuss the public sector from an African perspective, dissecting different issues.
Heald under the theme, promoting sustainable development Themed “Promoting Innovation for Sustainable Development, APSCA 2024 will bring together senior leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors aiming to shape the future of public service in Africa and propel the continent toward sustainable development.
When officially launching the conference, DPSM’s Director, Macholo said the theme reflects the flexibility of pushing boundaries of what is possible through fostering government policies, digital technologies. She said the conference provides a unique platform to recognise and applaud those at the helm of their performances.
“This is encouraging to make the journey easier or easy load for them. As the public sector we must be inspired by those who are awarded as this is motivation to us all as the captains of various industry to perform even further. As a country, DPSM has been mandated to foster a culture of excellence both skill and competence for the needs of our citizens. We have had conference on mindset change on how to better the service of our country, and out of such interactions and dialogues, delegates are encountered and are outspoken on delivery excellence. This we believe is a reality for Africa to improve service development. Thus, through strategic initiatives, we are digitally transforming to improve efficiency in public service and has strengthened services and we need to partner with all stakeholders involved. Through APSCA, this is the opportune time to collaborate with both governments and private sector to uplift our nations.
