Orange Money Botswana and Access Bank Botswana has continued to solidify their partnership and cement their position as the country’s most innovative financial service providers through the introduction of a Cardless ATM deposit and withdrawal service. The new feature allows customers to perform Cash-In and Cash-Out transactions directly at Access Bank’s 59 ATMs countrywide without using their Orange Money Visa card, marking a FIRST TO MARKET and a major step in the convergence of digital and traditional banking services.

Orange Money Botswana CEO, Seabelo Pilane, said the initiative demonstrates an outcome of a strong partnership between Access Bank and Orange Money committed to furthering financial inclusion and digital innovation.

“At Orange Money, we are driven by a vision to make financial services accessible, inclusive, and convenient for every Motswana. This latest innovation bridges the gap between mobile money and formal banking, giving our customers greater control and flexibility in how they access and manage their funds,” said Pilane.

Through this service, customers can now cash-in/deposit up to P8,000 and cash-out/withdraw up to P2,000 from Access Bank ATMs nationwide. Transactions are secured by a two-step verification process that requires both an Orange Money PINand a One-Time Password (OTP), ensuring that customers enjoy safe, seamless, and reliable financial interactions.

Pilane further highlighted that this innovation speaks to Orange Money’s broader digital transformation strategy.

“We are constantly looking for ways to simplify our customers’ financial journeys while strengthening trust in digital payments. The introduction of Cardless ATM services is not just about convenience it’s about creating an ecosystem that supports the country’s transition toward a cash-lite, digitally connected economy,” explained Access Bank Managing Director, Shep Aisam.

To access the service, customers simply dial *145# to generate an OTP before proceeding to any Access Bank ATM. They can then select the ‘Orange Money’ option under Cardless Services, input the required details, and complete their transactions instantly. Confirmation messages are sent via SMS, adding another layer of assurance and transparency.

Aisam added that the continued investment in digital innovation aligns with national goals for financial inclusion and economic empowerment. Furthermore, Aisam commended Orange Botswana for continuing to partner with Access Bank in its inclusion journey, stating that the new service is another layer to their existing collaborations on Bank2Wallet, Wallet2Bank and N’stakolle loans all providing Orange Money customer with 24/7/365 access to their funds. Orange Money and Access Bankbelieve that innovation must have a purpose. The Cardless transactions at ATM empowers Batswana by giving them the tools to participate fully in the digital economy. This new partnership with Access Bank is another step toward ensuring that no one is left behind in Botswana’s financial evolution.

This service reinforces their leadership in the mobile money space, setting new standards for innovation, accessibility, and customer-centric financial solutions. Orange Money and Access Bank’s continued efforts in digital inclusion position the two as a key player in shaping Botswana’s financial future where convenience meets innovation and technology empowers everyday life.
