The Botswana Softball Masters Association (BOSMA) is proud to announce the hosting of an exciting international softball masters tournament scheduled to take place from 14–16 May 2026 in Jwaneng. The highly anticipated event will bring together veteran softball teams from Botswana, Lesotho, and South Africa for three days of competitive action, camaraderie, and sporting excellence.
The participating teams are Freesouls, Saints, Diphala, Divas, Diamonds, Steelers, SoBall Dads, Kalahari Desert Kings, Orapa Masters (Botswana), Moletlane Texas, Best Batters, Flames, Olympia Royals, Brewers (South Africa) and Kings (Lesotho).
The tournament is expected to attract players, supporters, and sports enthusiasts from across the region, further strengthening the spirit of unity and friendship through sport. It also marks another important milestone in the growth and development of masters’ softball in Botswana and the Southern African region.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, BOSMA Chairperson Tsuna Makwa expressed excitement and confidence in the association’s readiness to deliver a successful event. “We are extremely excited and honored to welcome our brothers and sisters from Lesotho and South Africa to Jwaneng for this prestigious tournament. This event is not only about competition, but also about celebrating the love of softball, healthy living,friendship, and regional unity,” said Makwa.

Makwa noted that preparations are progressing well, with organizing committees working tirelessly to ensure that teams and visitors enjoy a memorable experience both on and off the field.
“BOSMA is fully committed to hosting a professional and successful tournament. We have assembled dedicated teams to oversee logistics, accommodation, transport, officiating, and player welfare. We want every participant to leave Jwaneng with great memories and appreciation for Botswana hospitality,” she added.
The tournament will feature experienced masters’ players who continue to contribute significantly to the development of softball in their respective countries. Fans can expect thrilling matches, displays of skill, and a celebration of the enduring passion for the sport.
Beyond the games, the event is also expected to provide positive economic and social benefits to the local community in Jwaneng through increased tourism activity and business opportunities for local vendors and service providers. People are expected to pay P30 a day for a fun filled softball extravaganza while cars are P20 a day. BOSMA further extended appreciation to sponsors, stakeholders, volunteers, and the local community for their continued support in making the tournament possible.
