Orange Botswana has renewed its sponsorship of the Orange FA Cup with a P16.8 million commitment over the next three seasons, reaffirming its long, term partnership with the Botswana Football Association (BFA).

The renewed agreement was announced at the official launch of the 2025/26 Orange FA Cup on the 13th February 2026. Since its inception in 2019, the partnership has grown into one of the most meaningful sponsorships in Botswana’s sporting landscape driving talent development, community upliftment, and professional growth within the football ecosystem.

The tournament has become a structured platform for nurturing talent, providing a vital bridge between grassroots football and the professional stage which sees lower division and upper division teams compete, which in turn offers players national exposure and a pathway to higher levels of the game. The results have seen several players who featured in the tournament go on to earn national team call-ups.

Orange Botswana Chief Executive Officer Néné Maïga said the company’s decision to sustain and grow the sponsorship, reflects a deliberate commitment to long term national impact.

“As the number one telecommunications company in Botswana, we believe leadership comes with responsibility. It is important to continue investing in platforms that develop talent, uplift communities and create opportunity,” said Maïga.

“The Orange FA Cup is not just about football. It is about social mobility, youth development and strengthening communities through sport. Sustained investment creates structured opportunities for young people to grow, compete and succeed.”

Looking ahead, the upcoming season is expected to be bigger and more engaging. Orange Botswana and the BFA are targeting increased fan interaction, expanded community activations, and enhanced nationwide visibility, ensuring the tournament reaches deeper into communities across Botswana.

This season will also introduce enhanced digital engagement through fan interactions on the Orange Max it App, alongside improved matchday security and convenience through the availability of online ticketing. These innovations are designed to elevate the overall fan experience while strengthening operational efficiency and safety.

Under the renewed agreement, Orange Botswana will continue to support the administration and prize structure of the competition, which features 48 teams competing in 47 matches across a nationwide knockout format.

The upcoming FA Cup tournament promises a thrilling display of football as reigning champions Jwaneng Galaxy FC gear up to defend their title. This year’s tournament will feature intense matchups across divisions, with both lower division and upperdivision teams aiming to challenge the champions and make their mark.
