Air Botswana yesterday unveiled two significant enhancements to its customer experience with the official relaunch of the Air Botswana Pula Lounge at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport and the introduction of its new inflight meal boxes, reaffirming the national carrier’s commitment to delivering a seamless, comfortable and distinctly Botswana travel experience.

The launch event, attended by the Honourable Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Hon. Noah Salakae, together with government officials, strategic partners, members of the aviation industry and the media, marked another important milestone in Air Botswana’s ongoing journey to modernise its services and strengthen its position as Botswana’s national airline.

The newly refurbished Pula Lounge, now operated in partnership with Soft Landing Concierge, has been thoughtfully redesigned to offer passengers a premium pre-flight experience centred on comfort, convenience and exceptional hospitality. The refreshed lounge reflects Air Botswana’s commitment to ensuring that every journey begins long before take-off.

Speaking at the launch, Hon. Noah Salakae commended Air Botswana for its continued investment in customer experience, noting that improvements across the aviation sector contribute to Botswana’s broader tourism, trade and economic development objectives. He further applauded the airline’s strategic partnerships, describing them as an important demonstration of innovation and service excellence.

Complementing the lounge relaunch was the introduction of Air Botswana’s new in- flight meal boxes, developed in collaboration with Gaborone City Investments Company (GCIC). More than simply onboard catering, the meal boxes feature an integrated QR code that connects passengers to a digital directory showcasing businesses, accommodation, restaurants, attractions, entertainment, professional services and investment opportunities across Gaborone.

This innovative platform transforms every flight into an opportunity to promote Botswana while creating meaningful exposure for local businesses. Through the digital directory, travellers can easily discover the city’s offerings before they even arrive, strengthening the connection between tourism, commerce and digital innovation. Air Botswana General Manager, Dr Bao Mosinyi, said the launch reflects the airline’s broader vision of placing customers at the centre of every journey.

“Every memorable journey begins before take-off. Whether through a welcoming lounge experience or thoughtfully curated onboard service, we are committed to ensuring every interaction reflects the warmth, professionalism and hospitality that define Air Botswana. These enhancements are part of our continued investment in delivering an experience that is comfortable, seamless and proudly Botswana.”

The airline also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of its strategic partners, Soft Landing Concierge and Gaborone City Investments Company, whose collaboration has helped bring these customer-focused initiatives to life. As Air Botswana continues to strengthen its service offering, the airline remains focused on creating memorable travel experiences while showcasing Botswana’s innovation, hospitality and tourism potential to every passenger who flies with the national carrier.
