Francistown, Botswana — PstBet Botswana has officially announced a P2 million sponsorship for TAFIC Football Club, covering three seasons as the club’s official sponsor. Ty is was announced at the stakeholder launch in Gaborone on Tuesday night.

The partnership brings together PstBet and one of Francistown’s most historic football institutions, TAFIC, which has been part of the city’s sporting identity since 1959.

Speaking at the launch, the PstBet Botswana Chief Executive Officer Advocate Mokoko Gaboutloeloe described TAFIC as more than a football club, saying it had become part of the identity and memories of generations of Francistown residents.

The partnership is anchored around TAFIC’s philosophy, “Ndipe ndi kupe”, meaning “Give me and I will give you,” which the company said reflects the spirit of its own “#youplay, we pay” tagline.

Mokoko said the sponsorship will provide TAFIC with resources, commercial support and increased visibility, while helping the club pursue greater competitiveness, professional administration and commercial sustainability.

The company also linked its investment in sport to broader economic development, arguing that a stronger professional sports sector can create jobs, stimulate economic activity and diversify incomes.

Mokoko further called on TAFIC supporters, known as the Matjimenyenga faithful, to continue attending matches, wearing the club colours and supporting the partnership.

The sponsorship marks a significant new chapter for TAFIC as the club looks towards its future and its upcoming 70-year milestone.

“For this chapter, PstBet Botswana is immensely excited to walk alongside Matjimenyenga,” the CEO said.
